Napoli è in lizza per diventare Capitale Europea del Volontariato 2015. La candidatura è stata presentata dall’assessorato alle Politiche sociali del comune di partenopeo ed è stata annunciata dal Capo Dipartimento Relazioni Internazionali di Barcellona, Capitale Europea del Volontariato attualmente in carica, nel corso della conferenza annuale del CEV di Torino. Napoli, sarà l’unica città italiana a contendersi il primato con Basilea (Svizzera) e Lisbona (Portogallo), scelte nella triade europea. Protagonista di numerosi progetti nel campo dell’impegno sociale, la città è stata selezionata dalla commissione ”per la capacità che ha avuto l’Amministrazione locale di realizzare attività e progetti di rete e in sinergia con le organizzazioni”.La città ha dimostrato di essere al centro di un costante lavoro di di sensibilizzazione sociale sui temi della solidarietà e della partecipazione civile.
Ad essere premiata sarà la città che meglio riuscirà a dimostrare di aver promosso a vario livello tutti i settori del volontariato sia a livello locale, che nazionale incrementando lo sviluppo delle collaborazioni fra i Centri di Servizio per il Volontariato europei e le stesse Organizzazioni di Volontariato. Sarà una giuria composta sei figure autorevoli del volontariato, del non profit, della società civile e delle imprese a selezionare la città che si è distinta tra tutte le altre per l’impegno profuso nelle attività sociali e nelle iniziative di partecipazione civile. I giurati valuteranno le candidature tenendo conto soprattuto di quanto le municipalità abbiano dimostrato di supportare l’implementazione del P.A.V.E. (Agenda Politica per il Volontariato in Europa), il documento contenente le raccomandazioni e le priorità da assumere nell’agenda politica del volontariato in Europa. La città designata acclamata vincitrice sarà annunciata il prossimo 4 dicembre 2014.
