L’EROE NAPOLETANO
Ciro Zampariello, vigile del fuoco della sezione di Torre del Greco, scava da due giorni nella città rasa al suolo dal terremoto. Appena arrivato ad Amatrice, il 49enne ha salvato due sorelline con l’eroica squadra del comando provinciale di Napoli coordinata dal direttore regionale Giovanni Nanni. I nove uomini sono stati tra i primi ad arrivare, allertati dal Centro operativo nazionale e dallo stesso Nanni che era in ferie proprio nei pressi di Amatrice.
Le bimbe salvate mercoledì mattina, una di due anni e l’altra di pochi mesi, erano incastrate tra suppellettili e un termosifone.
«Le operazioni sono state complesse, si cammina sui detriti, la strada non esiste più – racconta Zampariello – Appena arrivati, un gruppo di persone ci ha chiesto aiuto. Sentivano voci sotto le macerie. Abbiamo cercato di mettere in sicurezza l’area ma continuavano a venire giù pietre a ogni scossa. Siamo riusciti a estrarre il corpo della madre con difficoltà, poi le bambine. La seconda era così piccola che l’abbiamo adagiata su un cuscino».
Le sorelline sono state rianimate da un medico che è riuscito a infilarsi nel cunicolo. Sul posto anche polizia e carabinieri. L’operazione racconta l’ansia, la speranza e l’emozione di
Zampariello:
«Siamo umani ma dobbiamo restare lucidi. Ho accompagnato la bimba di due anni all’eliambulanza, con le manine stringeva le mani di una dottoressa. Le abbiamo detto “Non mollare piccola, ce l’hai fatta. È tutto finito»
Una tutina rosa, il piedino che spunta dal calzino rotto e la maglia blu sporca di polvere sono le tracce di ore passate sotto le macerie.
«Quando sono tornato, i miei colleghi stavano estraendo la bimba di pochi mesi, poi abbiamo recuperato la sorella adolescente. Aveva un braccio incastrato: ha cercato di proteggerle con tutto il corpo. La sera ci penso, ne parlo con i colleghi e mi vengono gli occhi lucidi».
