“Qui nacque e visse Filumena Marturano, resa celebre in tutto il mondo da Eduardo De Filippo”.
Così recita la targa in ricordo della popolana napoletana protagonista della commedia teatrale nel 1946 e nel 1951 divenne film, scritti dal grande drammaturgo Eduardo De Filippo.
Come riportato da Gianni Simioli conduttore de La Radiazza su Radio Marte e Francesco Emilio Borrelli dei Verdi, l’insegna dedicata a Filumena era stata apposta in occasione del trentennale della morte di Eduardo , in Vico San Liborio dove la donna, come riferisce un’anziana ex vicina di casa del quartiere Montecalvario, avrebbe abitato da giovane, almeno 70 anni fa. “Adesso al posto di quella che era “casa Marturano” , c’è una edicola votiva vuota e un deposito quasi sempre chiuso che è stato venduto dal vecchio proprietario Ernesto Polidoro”. Durante l’apposizione della targa c’era anche la Signora Antonietta Musella che proprio oggi ha compiuto 72 anni e che avrebbe conosciuto personalmente Filumena Marturano.
“Abbiamo deciso di dedicare una targa alla nostra Filumena per darle l’importanza che merita e attrarre turisti e curiosi in questa zona come avviene in tanti posti del mondo per luoghi “mitici” della letteratura o del cinema. È questa l’idea che abbiamo concretizzato proprio a Via San Liborio in occasione del trentennale della morte di Eduardo de Filippo con una targa in quello che è stato il basso dove è nata e vissuta Filumena Marturano, protagonista di una delle opere più belle dell’autore napoletano”. La Signora Antonietta Musella ha ricordato di aver conosciuto personalmente Filumena Marturano: “era ‘na guagliona di diciassette anni. La commedia racconta la sua storia vera. Sentite a me: durante la guerra, la figlia era ammalata ed era povera, per questo lei faceva la “bella vita”, è esistita e come, io l’ho conosciuta e i miei genitori me ne parlavano sempre. Era bellissima e tutti la conoscevano nel vicolo”.
