Quando “esistevano” dei progetti per i trasporti al Sud!
Secondo il sito i-sud.it , unire con una strada ferrata l’Adriatico al Tirreno si può, o meglio si poteva e a dirlo non sono stati i grandi ingegneri del Regno d’Italia ma i Borbone. Secondo il prof. Vincenzo Piccialli, tranese, ma sostenitore alle problematiche della nuova Provincia, l’alternativa alla linea Foggia-Benevento l’avevano intuita addirittura due secoli fa i Borbone. È il vecchio progetto preparato nel 1846, rivisto nel 1920, e che il Comitato promotore della Sesta Provincia ha riscoperto di recente nelle pieghe di una relazione pubblicata nel 1930 da una organizzazione sindacale dell’epoca. Il progetto suggerisce la realizzazione di una linea direttissima Barletta-Napoli lunga 204 chilometri, che oggi correrebbe parallela, all’incirca, all’autostrada A16 Napoli (Salerno)-Canosa, lunga 172,5 Km. “Evidentemente – spiega Piccialli – i Borbone nell’Ottocento avevano ben intuito, con acuta ed oggettiva lungimiranza, che il percorso più breve dall’Adriatico al Tirreno parte da Barletta, anticipando i progettisti degli anni Sessanta dell’autostrada A16”. È noto infatti che ad una minore distanza corrispondono tempi di percorrenza più bassi e costi inferiori delle tariffe ferroviarie, così come quelle dei pedaggi autostradali. Una vera e straordinaria occasione per cancellare quel gap infrastrutturale che ha isolato per secoli i due lati estremi del meridione. Ad oggi c’è già una linea che in qualche modo potrebbe soddisfare in parte le stesse strategie di collegamento ma per questioni prettamente politiche quella soluzione è stata completamente cancellata. Stiamo parlando dello snodo ferroviario di Rocchetta Scalo – Lacedonia. Da qui i treni, partendo da Gioia del Colle (ad una quarantina di chilometri dall’Adriatico) raggiungevano la stazione posta al confine tra Lucania, Campania e Puglia e poi proseguire alla volta di Avellino con la tratta che congiungeva Rocchetta al capoluogo Irpino e successivamente il salernitano e quindi il Tirreno. Purtroppo anche questa alternativa, se pur più complicata e più lunga della borbonica Barletta – Napoli, è stata completamente distrutta con la soppressione della tratta Avellino- Rocchetta da ormai 5 anni. Uno scempio che continua a contribuire all’isolamento delle aree interne del Meridione e consequenzialmente a sfavorire le attività produttive rispetto a concorrenti del centro nord. Unire L’Adriatico a Tirreno è un passo importante e fondamentale, lo pensavano i Borbone e lo pensano anche molti economisti ed imprenditori che guardano a questi due mari e ad un’alternativa su rotaie con grande interesse per contribuire anche al successo di porti importanti come quelli pugliesi e partenopei.
