L’epitaffio è posto nell’attuale angolo tra Corso Garibaldi e Via Gianturco a Portici in provincia, subito alla sinistra del Palazzo Ruffo di Bagnara e in sintesi indica: di Napoli. Indica in sintesi:
” se il vulcano s’infuria, non perdere tempo a salvare i tuoi beni e scappa quanto più lontano puoi ! “

Se ti ghermisce è finita: sei morto! Nell’anno di salute 1631, il 16 dicembre, regnando Filippo IV ed essendo vicerè Emanuele Fonseca Zunica conte di Monterey. Verificatosi nuovamente la calamità dei tempi passati ed essendo provveduto con grande umanità e munificenza ai relativi soccorsi
