Come riportato da napoli.repubblica.it , rinasce dopo trent’anni la chiesetta abbandonata di via Carlo Poerio. Merito di Marzio Alfonso Grimaldi, titolare dell’omonima libreria antiquaria e casa editrice, che sposta la sua sede principale dalla riviera di Chiaia a questa nuova location, appositamente riaperta e restaurata. Mai nuova destinazione poteva essere così idonea, tra libri, acquasantiere e gouaches. In questa gallery, si può notare il radicale cambiamento e recupero del luogo, da com’era a com’è. La piccola chiesa, “Matri divinae gratiae dicatum”, “Dedicata alla Madre della divina grazia”, fu costruita all’inizio del Novecento, quando la strada su cui affaccia si chiamava ancora vico Freddo a Chiaia.
Era abbandonata dagli anni Ottanta, da quando morì il suo ultimo custode, padre Tancredi. Fino a pochi mesi fa, giaceva nell’abbandono e nel degrado chiusa con un catenaccio alla buona, violata da vandali e ladri, deturpata da cartacce, bottiglie, mozziconi. I due locali, cappella e sacrestia, ora tornano a nuova vita. “Mi piangeva il cuore a vedere questo posto così malridotto – spiega Grimaldi – L’interno era messo ancora peggio, con un’incrostatura fangosa sui marmi, spessa dieci centimetri”. Grimaldi ha risposto ad un bando della Curia di due anni fa, che concedeva in gestione alcuni suoi locali in disuso, purché fossero indirizzati a scopi culturali e sociali. Detto fatto. Assieme alla figlia Simona, che lo affianca nella gestione dell’attività, Marzio Alfonso ha aperto un cantiere di ristrutturazione della chiesa, con lavori autorizzati dalle soprintendenze ai Beni architettonici e al Polo museale, che ne vincolano le salette. Il piccolo tempio torna a brillare coi suoi marmi e stucchi. E’ stata anche recuperata l’epigrafe che ne ricorda l’apertura, il 1912, anno in cui furono costruiti i primi palazzi dietro la riviera di Chiaia.
La prima stanzetta, l’ex sagrestia, è stata adattata a show room. Attraverso un passetto, un tempo stanza del prete ora adattata a studiolo, si accede alla cappella, ancora munita del suo piccolo coro e altare. Qui, Grimaldi, circondato da carte e profumo d’inchiostro, accoglie i suoi clienti. Preferisce ancora conoscerli personalmente, per questo è ancora titubante sull’apertura del suo sito all’e-commerce online. Mensole e scaffali di legno ospitano tutte le 220 pubblicazioni Grimaldi, dal 1978 a oggi. Sistemate in più formati, raccontano le aree di specializzazione della casa editrice: stampe ottocentesche, arte, storia del Regno di Napoli, vecchi cataloghi, testi rari. Come le memorie di antichi viaggiatori in Campania: alcune ristampe, sono di tomi risalenti al tardo Seicento, ben prima delle cronache da Grand tour. Ancora, volumi originali e riedizioni critiche: “In questi anni va moltissimo la letteratura legata alla storia della gastronomia – conclude Marzio – Curiamo l’edizione de “Il Cuoco Galante” di Vincenzo Corrado, classico del Settecento, assieme al “Del vitto pitagorico”, il primo scritto sulla cucina vegetariana a Napoli”. Ogni rilegatura, ogni pagina goffrata, porta il segno dell’antica tradizione libraia partenopea: nessun dettaglio lasciato al caso, eleganza e sobrietà. Parola di Grimaldi, nato 61 anni fa a Port’Alba. Praticamente una vita tra i libri.
