E’ così che Federico Salvatore scrive dal suo profilo facebook per difendersi e per ricordare la morte del suo caro amico Pino.
«Con la morte di Pinotto (perché così lo chiamavano noi lazzari felici del quartiere Stella) muore un pezzo della mia vita: ‘a giuventù! Il Pinotto “napulitano” della rabbia, delle tematiche sociali e dei mali della città, ha sicuramente condizionato e influenzato la mia attuale svolta artistica. Ecco perché in Se io fossi San Gennaro non ho condiviso un Pino Daniele “italiano” più melodico e sentimentale. E’ di fatto, però, che ultimamente era ritornato alle sue radici, alla sua e nostra Napoli. E a nome di Napoli desidero ricordarlo con una canzone scritta di getto, con un nodo in gola e un cazzotto nel cuore.
E me ne fotto di quanti possano pensare di voler strumentalizzare un evento tragico per cercare visibilità. Chiunque vive a Napoli (malpensanti compresi) ha almeno un ricordo legato a una canzone di Pinotto».
