Con il progetto «un sogno d’amore» , l’ associazione “ Le Due Sirene ” ha come missione il recupero artistico e decoroso dei monumenti in città ed in questo caso nella zona di ” Porta Capuana ” .
L’associazione è nata il 01 Giugno 2014 dalla spinta di Ilaria e Valeria Iodice, due giovani sorelle studiose ed appassionate di Napoli, allo scopo di creare una consapevolezza storico-artistica e culturale, identificativa del territorio campano e napoletano. La scelta di costituirsi come associazione è venuta dopo anni di esperienza nel campo del turismo e della divulgazione delle arti e della cultura partenopea, scegliendo come primo obiettivo la riqualificazione della zona identificata come “Rione Porta Capuana”, quartiere da troppo tempo fuori dai percorsi turistici più noti, ma pieno di splendidi monumenti: dalla Chiesa di Santa Caterina a Formiello con i suoi chiostri inglobati nell’ex Lanificio Sava, alla Porta Capuana e alle varie altre torri della murazione aragonese, al Castel Capuano con la Fontana del Formiello, all’ edicola monumentale di San Gennaro. Purtroppo alla fine di Giugno 2014 Ilaria , scopre di avere un male incurabile, che dopo soli due mesi la strappa dalla città che amava e dall’ amore dei suoi cari. E’ stata proprio questa la spinta decisiva dell’ associazione a dare tutto se stessa per queste meravigliose iniziative, vedendo finalmente il recupero della Fontana del Formiello tornare ai suoi splendori e riscoprendo la magnificenza dell’ edicola monumentale di S.Gennaro…Il sogno di Ilaria deve continuare e vivere ancora…proprio come lei!
Le operazioni di restauro sono state realizzate anche grazie alle numerose adesioni e donazioni dei cittadini che hanno contribuito fortemente al recupero di un bene comune di grande valore.
Contestualmente comincia una Raccolta Fondi allo scopo di coprire parte delle spese di restauro e manutenzione.
